Job Overview

The Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will provide strategic leadership and financial expertise on a part-time basis, guiding the organization’s financial planning, analysis, and risk management. Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Strategy Development:
    • Create and implement comprehensive financial strategies that align with the organization’s overall business objectives.
  2. Budget Management:
    • Oversee the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and efficient resource allocation.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the CEO, Board, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  4. Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the organization meets its financial obligations.
  5. Risk Management:
    • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial risks and protect organizational assets.
  6. Investment Oversight:
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize returns and support growth.
  7. Team Leadership:
    • Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  8. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate financial strategies and performance to stakeholders effectively.
  9. Audit and Compliance:
    • Oversee internal and external audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  10. Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

  3. Cash Flow Stability: Assess the stability and predictability of cash flow, aiming for healthy liquidity ratios.
  4. KPI Achievement: Ensure established KPIs for financial performance are met or exceeded on a regular basis.
  5. Stakeholder Satisfaction: Gauge engagement and satisfaction levels from stakeholders regarding financial communications and reporting.
  6. Risk Mitigation: Measure the effectiveness of risk management strategies in protecting the organization’s assets.
  7. Investment Returns: Evaluate the performance of investments against established benchmarks.
  8. Team Development: Assess improvements in team performance and knowledge through training and development initiatives.
  9. Audit Compliance: Monitor compliance with financial regulations and assess any compliance breaches.
  10. Reporting Accuracy: Ensure that financial reports are timely, accurate, and transparent.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, preferably in a fractional capacity.
    • Proven track record of developing and executing successful financial strategies.
